Wooden Pull-along Tractor
Escor TractorEscor Tractor
Wooden Pull-along Tractor with a substantial baseboard.  The toy was painted yellow, with red wheels and steering wheel, or in the reverse colours of red with yellow wheels and steering wheel.  The grille was painted silver, overlaid with an ESCOR label, and the removable driver was blue or light green.  Underneath the baseboard was stamped in an oval MADE IN ENGLAND ESCOR Reg Trade Mark (145 mm).

Wooden Tractor and Trailer

Escor Tractor and Trailer
Wooden Tractor and Trailer. Tractor as above but red with yellow wheels and steering wheel, and light green driver (missing the label on the grille).  Trailer hooked with tow loop onto tractor, in similar colours.  Four split pins set in holes in the trailer bed held chains which could be hooked together to hold a load in place.  Similar stamps underneath tractor and trailer.  Believed to have been purchased new in about 1967 or 1968 (overall length 315 mm).

Wooden Pull-along Tractor

Escor Tractor
Wooden Pull-along Tractor designed to be dismantled by undoing large nuts holding all the pieces together.  Red bonnet and seat on a green baseboard.  Yellow and unpainted wheels and green plastic square nuts over the wooden axles to hold the wheels in place.  Blue spoked plastic steering wheel (driver missing) (150 mm).
Escor Tractor with box
A boxed example, having knurled unpainted wooden nuts on the wooden axles, while the box illustration showed plastic nuts with corrugated edges. The removable man was painted blue with brown hair. There was an ESCOR transfer on the grille, a Union Jack to the rear and a front hole for a tow string.
Escor TractorEscor Tractor
Another example, having white plastic wheel nuts and a brown plastic open steering wheel with four spokes. The driver was green with green hair.
Escor Tractor
This one had light blue plastic wheel nuts.
Escor Tractor
This example had square green plastic wheel nuts and a light blue wooden steering wheel.
Escor Tractor
This example had faded pink plastic nuts, red painted wooden wheels and a yellow wooden steering wheel.

Wooden Pull-along Tractor

Escor Tractor
Wooden Pull-along Tractor of a different design in red with blue wheels and green removable driver.  The pull-along cord runs through the front axle, up under the driver’s seat, through the driver and emerges as a tuft of hair on the driver’s head.  The rear wheels were more elaborate than usual with turned detailing.  Black solid steering wheel was possibly made of rubber.  No transfers have survived the playwear and no stamp underneath.  A large metal rear tow hook may be original (163 mm including hook).

Large Wooden Pull-along Tractor

Escor Large Tractor
Large wooden Pull-along Tractor with a blue baseboard, red bonnet, silver grille, red seat, yellow wheels and yellow driver with a green hat.  It could be dismantled by unscrewing the red wooden nuts which held the wheels in place, and others under the baseboard which held the bonnet, seat and baseboard together. Under the baseboard was stamped in an oval MADE IN ENGLAND ESCOR Reg Trade Mark and a second stamp PATENT No 506842 (230 mm).
